What Material Takeoff Services Covers
A material takeoff goes one step past a quantity takeoff. It turns "1,240 LF of 2x6 plate" or "18,400 SF of wall board" into what a yard or supplier actually sells: pieces of a stock length, sheets of a size, bundles, bags and boxes.
It is used for purchasing and supplier quoting rather than for bidding labor, so each line is described at product level (size, grade, thickness, length) and grouped the way materials will be ordered and delivered.

What You Receive

Product description, size, grade, stock length or sheet size, purchase unit and quantity, grouped by assembly (walls, floors, roof) or by delivery phase.
Conversion notes
The stock lengths, sheet sizes, coverage rates and waste allowances used to convert measured quantities into purchase units, so a supplier can adjust for what they stock.
PDF quote summary
A one-page list per phase that can be emailed straight to suppliers.

We confirm the lengths, sheet sizes and products the supplier stocks, so the list does not call for items they do not carry.
Measure
The underlying quantity takeoff, measured from the drawings.
Convert to purchase units
Lengths are optimized to stock sizes; areas are converted to sheets or squares; accessories (fasteners, adhesives, flashing) are calculated from coverage rates.
Group for ordering
Lines are grouped by building, floor or delivery phase.
Deliver
The BOM workbook, the conversion notes and a PDF quote summary.

Pricing & Turnaround
Most single-trade material lists fall in the $150 – $350 per project range. Multi-building or multi-phase packages are quoted after plan review.
Every project gets a fixed quote after we see the drawings. Standard delivery is 24 to 48 hours from scope approval; large packages take longer and the date is set in the quote. Full fee tiers are on the pricing page.

How is a material takeoff different from a quantity takeoff?
A quantity takeoff measures the work (for example, 18,400 SF of wall). A material takeoff converts that into what you buy: for example, 575 sheets of 4x8 board, plus the screws, tape and compound needed for them.
Can you match our yard's stock lengths?
Yes. Send your stock list. Without it, we use standard lengths and list them in the conversion notes.
Do you include fasteners and accessories?
Yes, calculated from coverage rates, which are stated in the notes, so you can adjust them to the products you sell.
